Sanford man thrown from golf cart, driver arrested for OUI

Cumberland County Sheriff's deputies said a Sanford man was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening head injuries after he was thrown from a golf cart at the Point Sebago Resort late Saturday night.

Deputies said John MacKay, 52, was taken to Maine Medical Center by helicopter, while the driver, Gary Belinsky, 59, of Westford, Mass., was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.

Belinsky is being held on $300 bail at the Cumberland County Jail.
